Summit for Danny 2009
The Summit for Danny climbs have been raising money to help treat drug and alcohol problems in local young people for the past 9 years. I was honored to be part of the initial international climb to the Arctic in August, 2000. It was a difficult trip, there were challenging conditions and it was one of the most empowering events of my life.
I can only imagine how challenging it is for a young person to resist the peer pressure to try or use drugs. For those who find themselves in trouble, there is now a place to turn, thanks to the Daniel Bryant Youth and Family Treatment Center, established by the money raised from 6 international and 9 local climbs.
Is there someone you know who has a child or grandchild? Then he or she could one day need to find a way to resist the temptation to use drugs and alcohol. Insure that help will be there by making a donation so the work of the Daniel Bryant Center continues.
I'll be hiking on October 24th in the local Summit for Danny climb, and when I do, I'll be remembering your generosity and all the kids we're helping.
